Transfer news LIVE!

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United are all stepping up the pursuit of respective targets with the transfer window well underway. Now that the World Cup is drawing to a close, pre-season is sharply coming into focus which means deals are expected to accelerate. Arsenal are set to announce a deal for Christos Tzolis, while they remain keen on sign both Morgan Rogers and Bruno Guimaraes.

Ezri Konsa has also been linked with a move to the Premier League champions as they seek cover for the injured William Saliba, and there has been a fresh Julian Alvarez update. Man United are scouting the midfield market despite signing Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos, with contact made over Hugo Larsson as a bid for Manu Kone is prepared. Chelsea have been told how much it will cost to sign Maxence Lacroix as they consider a loan move for Mamadou Sarr.

Tottenham have already spent over £200million this summer and remain interested in further reinforcements, though they have rejected an offer from Newcastle for Lucas Bergvall. Liverpool have tied down Dominik Szoboszlai to a new contract but are targeting a forward signing, or two, amid links to Bradley Barcola. Chelsea learn Lacroix price

Maxence Lacroix has been linked with a summer switch from Crystal Palace to Chelsea, but there has been a twist.

Previous reports suggested an offer of under £50million would be enough for the London rivals to reach an agreement.

However, according to The Times, Palace will demand at least £55m for Lacroix, who still has three years left on his contract.

Palace’s valuation is based partly on the recent transfers for other Premier League centre-backs, including Tottenham paying Brighton £52m for Jan Paul van Hecke.

Tottenham prepared for more player sales to fund major rebuild

Tottenham are prepared to facilitate further sales to help finance their rebuild under Roberto De Zerbi, as talks continue over Lucas Bergvall, writes Sam Tabuteau.

Following the £50million departure of Luka Vuskovic to Brighton earlier this week, Spurs sources told Standard Sport that the club were actively looking to become more efficient at selling players.

Historically, Tottenham have struggled to maximise value from player sales. But with De Zerbi spearheading a squad overhaul this summer, the club view this transfer window as an opportunity to turn a profit on those whose minutes might be limited by their aggressive spending.

Spurs’ summer outlay has already exceeded £200m, with six new players arriving before pre-season started last week.

Chelsea in talks over new Shim Mheuka contract

Shim Mheuka is in talks over a new contract at Chelsea, writes Dom Smith.

The striker’s current contract expires in 2027, but Standard Sport understands the Blues have been working to tie down his future to the club before sending him out on loan for regular first-team football during the 2026-27 season.

It is believed that the 18-year-old is close to agreeing to the new terms being floated by Chelsea.

A loan is likely for the upcoming season, with EFL clubs and some in Europe having registered their interest.

Trio interested in Balogun

Sticking with Juventus, reports in Spain claim they lead the race for Monaco forward Folarin Balogun.

The USMNT is coming off an impressive World Cup and is said to be attracting interest from Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland.

All three teams will be in Europe next season, as will his current club, so it could be a difficult decision for Balogun to make.

Emiliano Martinez is gearing up for his second World Cup final with Argentina on Sunday night.

However, he may have a decision to make on his Aston Villa following the game, as he is subject of an £5.5million offer from Juventus.

That is according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim Villa are holding out for almost double (£10.2m).

West Ham face fight to keep Summerville

West Ham are set to feel the impact of relegation as Crysencio Summerville is the latest senior player to be linked with a summer exit after Mateus Fernandes.

Summerville is said to be attracting interest from Premier League rivals Tottenham.

Man Utd have also been linked with the Dutchman, but that depends on the future of Marcus Rashford.

Olise tempted by Real Madrid

Real Madrid's interest in Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Michael Olise is well documented - even if they have released a statement suggesting otherwise.

The Frenchman has been a shining light at this summer's World Cup, providing five assists ahead of tonight's bronze final showdown with England.

Olise's link-up with Kylian Mbappe has caught the eye and there are suggestions the pair could become team-mates at club level too.

According to L'Equipe, the 24-year-old is tempted by a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Tottenham reject Bergvall offer

Tottenham have rejected an offer from Newcastle for Lucas Bergvall.

According to the Athletic, the Magpies proposed a package worth £46million for the want-away central midfielder.

Spurs have also rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest for the Sweden international but will consider a sale at right price.
