Alex Eala is set for another reunion with American tennis icon Venus Williams after the pair was entered in the doubles draw of the WTA 500 Mubadala DC Open set in Washington, D.C. on July 27 to Aug. 2.

Tournament organizers announced the pairing on social media, marking the second straight tournament that Eala and Williams are teaming up.

The duo first joined forces at the WTA 500 Bad Homburg Open in Germany last month, where they finished in the quarterfinals.

“Dream Team. Venus Williams & Alex Eala are locked in for doubles in DC!” Mubadala DC Open wrote on its social media post.

In previous interviews, Eala expressed admiration and respect for Williams, whom she considered as one of her childhood idols.

Regarded as one of the legends of the sport, the 46-year-old Williams has been ranked No. 1 in both singles and doubles in the world. She has accumulated 49 WTA Tour-level singles titles, including seven majors, and 22 doubles titles including 14 Grand Slam crowns with sister, Serena Williams.

Williams also has high praises for Eala, even considering the 21-year-old Filipina ace as “best partner.”

The Mubadala event is just first of Eala’s tournament in the hard court swing leading to the US Open scheduled late in August until September.
