‘Absolute fanboy’ - Old image of Ryan Reynolds posing next to Cristiano Ronaldo jersey is going viral again

Ryan Reynolds is now perhaps one of the most well-known owners of a soccer team in the world.

In 2021, he purchased Welsh team Wrexham AFC alongside Rob Mac for around $2.5m.

The duo have since taken the Red Dragons from the fifth tier of English football up to the Championship, which is one step away from the Premier League.

But even before he was the owner of Wrexham, Reynolds did visit the stadium of Real Madrid, where he was snapped posing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo's jersey.

Ronaldo is one of the greatest players of all time and had a prolific spell in Madrid before leaving for Serie A side Juventus in 2018.

Now, an old photo of Reynolds alongside CR7's shirt at the Madrid stadium is doing the rounds on social media again.

A post of the image has already received over 1,000 likes, and a number of people have commented.

One fan wrote: "Bro is posing right under CR7 like an absolute fanboy. Ryan Reynolds never fails to be hilarious."

Another stated: "Ryan Reynolds collecting football clubs one stadium visit at a time."

"He couldn't resist that pic," stated another soccer fan.

A fourth replied: "They all know who the GOAT is," while a fifth tweeted: "I love this bro."

Meanwhile, Reynolds will now be turning his attention towards the 2026/27 Championship season, which kicks off this week.

Wrexham play their first game of the campaign against Cardiff City on Monday and will be looking to improve on their seventh-place finish from last season.
