MANCHESTER UNITED are set to wrap up several exits in the final weeks of the transfer window.

Old Trafford bosses still feel there is plenty of work to be done resolving the futures of several youngsters.

Despite his cameo in the 1-1 draw against Leeds at Croke Park, United are willing to listen to offers for Toby Collyer.

Harry Amass, 19, is set to leave this summer and well-placed sources say a sale is more likely – despite United being short of left backs.

United know they can cash in on Amass. Given his talent, it is time for him to take the next step in his career whether at Old Trafford or elsewhere.

Norwich are interested in another loan.

But United would want to include an obligation to buy at the very least.

Amass’s loan spell at Carrow Road was cut short just two weeks into February training after he suffered a hamstring injury.

Jacob Devaney, Jack Moorhouse and Ethan Ennis could all seal new temporary moves.

But there is internal debate over whether striker Chido Obi should go out or continue to be developed at Carrington.

Meet and greet

UNITED did not exactly bring out the big guns for a fan event in Dublin this week.

Shea Lacey, the Fletcher twins and Dermot Mee were the players picked to visit a sports store plugging the club’s new shirt.

The most famous face on the panel was club great and ambassador Denis Irwin, who of course also hails from the Republic of Ireland.

Amusingly, training goalkeeper Mee even donned an outfield shirt for the event.

Prime time

JOURNALISTS encountered the Amazon cameras for the first time during this week’s sit-down interview with Youri Tielemans.

The 17-minute chat was filmed by two cameramen and we were asked to sign waivers at the end to consent to our inclusion in the final cut of the documentary.

The word is that the All or Nothing fly-on-the-wall series will hit the Prime streaming platform in September or October of next year.

Tiel-tale signs

SENIOR staff at United are already talking up a collaboration between Tielemans and Bruno Fernandes.

Tielemans played Fernandes in for a good chance in the second half against Paris Saint-Germain but the United captain was uncharacteristically lax with his finish.

Another pass from Tielemans saw Fernandes rattle the crossbar against Leeds.

Fernandes received a gentle rebuke from Tielemans on his maiden United appearance.

A senior club source said after the game that staff were encouraged by the early link-up play between the duo.

Fletch it

THE Fletcher twins’ presence for United’s pre-season schedule has made it even more difficult to tell the two apart.

Even United director of football Jason Wilcox, who saw the pair come through the Manchester City academy, still hesitates when guessing which is which.

United have also stopped printing players’ squad numbers on training gear, making it trickier for photographers whenever the twins are training together.

Jack Fletcher is left-footed, though, which is how Wilcox is able to identify him.

Food for thought

THE video that surfaced of JJ Gabriel’s initiation song showed United security personnel sitting down for the evening meal.

The terrace where United dined at Carton House backs on to the 18-hole golf course. With more daylight in August, there was every chance someone would surreptitiously capture footage of United’s outdoor meal.

Carton House is a vast hotel, so it is practically impossible to cover all bases unless dining indoors. That would have been a waste, given the uncharacteristically bright Irish weather this week.

No Ed room

FORMER United chief John Murtough is working in Italy as Atalanta’s head of global development.

His role means he was not involved in United’s collapsed deal for midfielder Ederson.

Murtough left United in April 2024 after more than ten years of service at the club, whom he joined in 2013 after stints working for the Premier League, Everton, Coventry City and Fulham.

The 55-year-old initially focused on United’s academy and scouting, before a promotion to head of football development in 2016 and, five years later, becoming the club’s first football director.
