It's not the FIFA World Cup until Shakira sings.

The teaser for "Dai Dai", the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, comes 16 years after the Colombian superstar sang the anthem of the 2010 edition of the international football tournament, “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, in South Africa and 20 years after she sang an adapted version of "Hips Don't Lie (Bamboo)" at the Closing Ceremony of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.

In the 2026 anthem teaser, Shakira is shown with a team of dancers at the legendary Maracaná Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. All the dancers are decked out in outfits that pay tribute to the different football teams participating in the upcoming tournament, with Shakira wearing Colombia's yellow and blue.

“From Maracaná Stadium, here is 'Dai Dai,' the @fifaworldcup Official Song 2026,” Shakira wrote on her Instagram, with a mention of Afrobeats star Burna Boy, who also features on the anthem.

The clip received 1.9 million likes in less than 24 hours, with the full song set for release on Thursday (14 May).

Previous official anthem singers include international stars like Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Nicky Jam, Will Smith and Jungkook.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off on 11 June with the final to take place on 19 July in New York, USA. The United States, Mexico and Canada are hosting the quadrennial tournament.
