Jersey club urges vandals to confess and help fix damage

Jersey Wanderers Football Club said sections of its dugouts at JW Park in St Peter had been broken off on Wednesday and would now need to use funds usually put towards its games to fix them.

Club chief executive Mark Woodford said he wanted to "speak directly with those responsible" to understand why the vandalism occurred and to "encourage them to reflect on their actions".

"In a tough financial environment, we work hard for every pound we raise, and money spent repairing vandalism is money that should be going towards football for our teams across all age groups, not to mention the time it takes away from the time our volunteers can give to progress the club."

Woodford said if the people came forward and owned up, helped it repair the damage and "put some volunteer hours back into the club", it would "call it quits".
