Tottenham Hotspur defender Djed Spence looks set to join Inter Milan imminently, and Spurs are big admirers of Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Munoz as they look at replacing the England international.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi is making big changes to his squad this summer, with six new arrivals already confirmed and the potential that at least two more will join as the club eyes moves for Manchester City winger Savinho and Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo.

Naturally, when so many players come into the building, others need to leave and the likes of Radu Dragusin, Will Lankshear, Luka Vuskovic and Manor Solomon have departed.

They look set to be joined shortly by Spence and Cristian Romero, who are closing in on switches to Inter and Atletico Madrid respectively.

Romero's exit is not too surprising given reports have long suggested he would be on his way out of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, but De Zerbi has decided to axe Spence too, despite a standout 2026 World Cup for England.

With a £27m deal agreed, reliable Spurs insider Paul O'Keefe has now claimed on X that the north London outfit are big admirers of Munoz as they consider bringing in a replacement for Spence.

The interest in signing a replacement is no surprise given that Tottenham are much better stocked on the left side of defence than they are on the right. New signing Andy Robertson, Ben Davies, Destiny Udogie, Souza and even Micky van de Ven can all play at left-back, but there are fewer options for the right-back slot once Spence goes. Archie Gray has filled in there previously, but his best position is in central midfield, which then relies on Pedro Porro remaining fit throughout the campaign.

Munoz is Perfect for De Zerbi's System

De Zerbi showed at the end of last season, and with his summer transfer business so far, that he prefers Premier League experience and know-how, and Munoz would arrive at Tottenham with bundles of that. The Colombia international recently turned 30 years of age and has plenty of English top flight games under his belt for the Eagles.

Despite having two years remaining on his contract at Selhurst Park, Everton are also showing interest in the South American, and it is no surprise given what he offers from an attacking point of view from either full-back, or wing-back. 12 assists in 82 Premier League games is impressive, and the 30-year-old is a player who loves to press and can run all day long, which suits De Zerbi, as has been proven by his praise of Conor Gallagher's similar traits previously. He isn't just an attacking full-back though, and is tackling is arguably his biggest strength, along with his ability to make interceptions, as WhoScored confirm. The other huge positive for signing Munoz is the tactical flexibility he would allow De Zerbi, between playing a system with four or five at the back in certain matches. There is a good reason why Munoz has been labelled as the 'best wing-back in the Premier League' by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, and he would be the perfect competition for the World Cup-winning Porro.
