Geelong has confirmed Max Holmes will undergo surgery on the ankle he injured on Thursday night.The star Cat went down awkwardly during the fourth quarter of 27-point win over St Kilda at GMHBA Stadium and appeared to be in significant pain as he came off the ground.He was in a moonboot and required crutches to get around after the final siren.Holmes will now go under the knife to repair a fracture of his right ankle as well as a syndesmosis issue."The Geelong Football Club can provide an update on Max Holmes following Thursday night's victory over St Kilda," read a club statement."Following further medical assessment, Max Holmes will undergo surgery today to repair a right ankle fracture and syndesmosis injury.The news comes just days after superstar forward Jeremy Cameron suffered a shoulder injury which also requires surgery and will sideline him for four to six weeks.
