The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced on Thursday that Mustafizur Rahman will not be available for the remainder of the Pakistan Super League, with the board cancelling his No-objection certificate on medical grounds.

Cricbuzz earlier reported that Mustafizur had been granted an NOC from March 26 to April 12, and again from April 24 to May 3. He was due to play the ODIs alone against New Zealand and not the T20Is.

Mustafizur, who missed the opening two games of the three-match ODI series due to injury, made a return to the playing XI in the series decider and made it noteworthy with a five-wicket haul.

However, following the third ODI against New Zealand, the BCB stated that they will not release Mustafizur, who was part of Lahore Qalandars in the PSL.

"The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wishes to inform that, following the conclusion of the 3rd ODI against New Zealand, the team's medical staff has reviewed the condition of national team pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman," BCB said in a statement.

"It has been decided that the player will undergo an immediate scan to further assess his condition, after which he will commence a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the BCB Medical Team," it said.

"In this regard, the Board has withdrawn the No Objection Certificate (NOC) previously issued to Mustafizur. He will therefore not be available to participate in the remainder of PSL 2026," it added.

The BCB also informed that they would not release fast bowler Nahid Rana either for PSL 2026. The decision was taken to allow Rana adequate time to prepare for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan next month.
