Good start the second half again from Coventry, they started the first well too. I've counted three long balls already.

I think they can go for it in this half, they're top of the league and I just hope they take the shackles off. I wonder if that was the message at half-time?

We're a better side than Blackburn but still have to be careful.

And Ellis Simms almost gave them a bump-start as Milan van Ewijk gets in behind Yuri Ribeiro and hooks in a low cross which Simms controls up in the air before trying a close-range overhead kick, only for brave Sean McLoughlin to get in the way and earn a free-kick for a high boot.

Carl Rushworth booted a beachball back into the partying away end but Coventry are not on the beach just yet.

Blackburn are tackling harder, running more and showing greater intensity and Coventry need to up their game to make sure they get the draw they need to clinch promotion.

Rovers went close and Yuki Ohashi headed against the bar from Ryan Alebiosu's cross only for referee Lewis Smith to blow for a push by the Japanese.

Of course, Coventry would be promoted if the game remains scoreless and that is the most important thing.

I think in large parts of the first 45 Blackburn have been the better side who have had the better chances. Yuki Ohashi should have had at least one goal.

It'll be an interesting second half.

Coventry are half-way to the point they need for promotion, but they have not had the best of this game.

Rovers have looked the more threatening, with Ryan Alebiosu almost unplayable down the right flank, with one of his crosses headed straight at keeper Carl Rushworth early on while Ryoya Morishita saw a late shot blocked from another cut-back and Yuri Ribeiro was denied by a fine Milan van Ewijk challenge from yet another.

Keeper Balasz Toth has been largely a spectator for the hosts, though Jack Rudoni and Ephron Mason-Clark steered efforts wide of the near post for the visitors, who have bossed the ball without really threatening to break through.

Rovers boss Michael O'Neill played five games for Coventry in the mid-90s... one of those was a 0-0 draw against Blackburn... just going to mention this now.

Ryan Alebiosu, again, is a handful down the right and pulls the ball back into the box where Ryoya Morishita is running in. His first-time shot comes back off Joel Latibeaudiere, with fans appealing for handball, but Morishita is unable to pounce on the loose ball and City clear.

Almighty game of head-tennis in the Rovers box and the hosts are only able to half-clear, allowing Bobby Thomas to curl in a low cross to the back post which the sliding Ephron Mason-Clark does well to get on the end of, but can only turn wide from a couple of yards out.

Blackburn have to take more risks, Yuri Ribeiro was the only one there but its good defending by Coventry.

You have to make the most of everything. Have the willpower to go that extra half-yard.

Good spell of pressure from Rovers now, and nearly a sight of goal.

Milan van Ewijk has produced what might have been a goal-saving intervention near the penalty spot after a cut-back from the right of the area, sliding in to prevent Yuri Ribeiro getting a clean shot away at the expense of a corner - which Rovers waste.
