The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has set September 3, 2026 as the deadline for all participating clubs to complete their first-phase player registration for the 2026-27 Bangladesh Football League, as the start of the domestic season has been deferred once again owing to the inability of Bashundhara Kings, Abahani and Young Men's Fakirerpool Club to lift their FIFA players registration ban despite repeated extension of the deadline. In a letter sent to the participating clubs, the BFF said the Federation Cup, which was originally scheduled to kick off on August 28, will beginning on September 22. The football season, according to the new schedule, will kick off on September 18 instead of originally-planned August 25.The Federation Cup matches will be played in Munshiganj, Manikganj, Gopalganj and the National Stadium in Dhaka. With the FIFA international window running from September 21 to October 6, BFF has instructed to start the national team camp from August 27.Meanwhile, Fortis FC's participation in the AFC Challenge League will create another break in the domestic schedule. The group stage of the continental competition is scheduled to take place in Kuwait from October 17 to 23.The BFF said matches involving Fortis in the Bangladesh Football League and Federation Cup would be played after the completion of the first phase of the league.
