The fans at Wankhede Stadium went crazy when the two stalwarts of Indian cricket – Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma – crossed paths on the field. The Mumbai Indians hosted the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Sunday night, and the fans stacked up in large numbers to see their favourite stars in action.

After MI chose to bowl first, Kohli walked out to bat and briefly stopped near Rohit, who was taking his fielding position. The two exchanged a few words, and something Kohli said left Rohit smiling, much to the delight of the crowd.

Although Kohli scored a half-century, he was bashed on social media for his slow-paced batting. The former RCB skipper scored a 37-ball 50, with the help of 5 boundaries and a six, before falling prey to Hardik Pandya in the 15th over.

Phil Salt and Virat Kohli gave Royal Challengers Bengaluru a flying start with a commanding 120-run opening partnership, setting the tone for a big total. Kohli got things going with a stylish flicked six off Trent Boult, but it was Salt who took the aggressive route, attacking Boult and Hardik Pandya early on.

Salt’s assault peaked when he hammered Mitchell Santner for three consecutive sixes, helping RCB race to 71 in the powerplay, despite Jasprit Bumrah keeping things tight in his spell. Salt continued to dominate, taking on Mayank Markande before falling to Shardul Thakur.

Rajat Patidar then shifted gears with a blistering 17-ball fifty, while Kohli anchored the innings with a composed half-century. Tim David added the finishing touch with an unbeaten cameo, ensuring RCB maintained complete control.
