Fan who threw vape at pitch during Bromley game slapped with football ban

An away fan who threw a vape at the pitch during a Bromley game has been banned from football matches.

The incident took place during Bromley FC's 1-0 home victory over Colchester United on March 21.

John Kingston, from Sudbury, pleaded guilty to throwing a missile onto the football playing area at The Copperjax Community Stadium.

The 32-year-old was sentenced to a three-year football banning order at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Friday (August 7).

He now faces restrictions meaning he can't attend Colchester United or England international matches at home or abroad.

Two other men from Colchester, Paul Slasor and Ricky Pygott, were arrested during the same game following disturbances between Colchester United supporters and Bromley FC stewards.

In May, they admitted public order offences of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour.

They were also given football banning orders.
