Man City threaten to hijack Arsenal’s Bouaddi pursuit

Manchester City are pushing to beat Arsenal to the signing of Lille starlet Ayyoub Bouaddi, according to The Athletic.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with the Morocco international throughout the World Cup, but City are now making a strong move and want to bring the 18-year-old straight into Pep Guardiola’s squad.

Arsenal are among several clubs who would be open to signing Bouaddi before loaning him back to Lille for another season, though City favour integrating him immediately.

It raises the prospect of City beating Arsenal to another highly-rated teenage talent, having already won the race to sign Leicester wonderkid Jeremy Monga just a few days ago.

Gunners targets set to feature in World Cup semi-final

Several of Arsenal’s reported transfer targets could be in action when France face Spain in tonight’s World Cup semi-final.

France duo Manu Kone and Bradley Barcola are both in contention to feature, though likely from the bench with Aurelien Tchouameni returning from injury and Desire Doue likely to be the preferred starter on the left.

Spain winger Nico Williams could also line up, again likely from the bench as he’s not quite at full fitness and Alex Baena has been impressive on the opposite flank to Lamine Yamal.

Scouts from across the Premier League are expected to be watching closely as three of Arsenal’s reported targets bid to reach the World Cup final.

Rogers price tag revealed after Tielemans blow

Arsenal have reportedly been told they will need to pay £130million if they want to sign Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers this summer.

Fabrizio Romano says Villa remain determined to keep hold of the England international despite continued interest from the Gunners, who view him as one of their priority attacking targets.

Arsenal’s pursuit comes after Manchester United completed the signing of Youri Tielemans from Villa, leaving Unai Emery keen to avoid losing another key player before the new season.

Rogers remains high on Mikel Arteta’s wishlist, but Villa’s £130m valuation means any deal will be one of the biggest transfers of the summer if Arsenal decide to press ahead.

Arsenal could bank around £190m from summer clear-out

Arsenal could reportedly raise close to £190million through player sales this summer as sporting director Andrea Berta looks to reshape Mikel Arteta’s squad, according to football.london.

Among the biggest potential departures are Gabriel Martinelli, Ethan Nwaneri, Ben White, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus, while Fabio Vieira, Christian Norgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Reiss Nelson have also been linked with exits.

Estimated fees suggest Martinelli could fetch £40m-£50m, Nwaneri £30m-£40m, White £20m-£30m, Trossard £15m-£20m, Jesus £10m-£15m, Vieira £10m-£15m, Norgaard £5m-£10m, Kepa around £5m, with Nelson expected to bring in under £5m.

If Arsenal were to complete deals at the upper end of those valuations, the Gunners could generate almost £190m to help fund further arrivals before the transfer window closes.

This would help fund high profile transfers such as Morgan Rogers and Bradley Barcola.

Waddle questions Guimaraes links

Chris Waddle has admitted he is surprised by Arsenal’s reported interest in Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

Speaking to 10bet, Waddle said: “I don’t get Arsenal. They’ve got a big squad as it is, and I just don’t understand why they keep getting linked with these players.

“He’s nearly 30 and he’s going to want at least a four-year contract… You don’t want to pay £50m, £60m or £70m for someone you’re not going to get anything back on.

“There will be clubs interested if the price is right… It will be interesting to see what happens.”

Gunners pushing for Alvarez deal

Arsenal are reportedly trying to complete a deal for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez before the start of pre-season, according to The Independent.

The Argentina international boosted his reputation again by scoring a stunning extra-time winner against Switzerland to send the world champions into the World Cup semi-finals.

While Barcelona and Real Madrid have both been linked, Atletico are reluctant to sell to either domestic rival, leaving Arsenal with renewed hope of striking a deal.

The Gunners are still hoping to keep the fee below £90million, although Atletico are believed to want in excess of £100m, with sporting director Andrea Berta leading negotiations with his former club.

Gunners keen on Barca star

Barcelona seem to have changed their stance on Ferran Torres leaving Camp Nou this summer.

It seems, with one year left on his contract, they are not key on extending his terms as it would mean paying an additional £6.8m to Man City as a result of one of the clauses in the sale.

That has peaked interest from clubs such as Arsenal, Tottenham and PSG.

The latter are looking for reinforcements in case Barcola moves on this summer.

Reports circling on double deal

It has been no secret that Arsenal have listed Morgan Rogers and Bruno Guimaraes as major transfer targets.

However, it is now believed that personal terms have been agreed with both.

While they still need to iron out transfer fees with Aston Villa and Newcastle, it is believed that the deal for both will exceed £200m.

Striker purchase seems impossible

In recent days Arsenal have been linked to the purchase of Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid.

Gunners’ fans may not get too excited about this rumour and for good reason.

Atletico turned down an offer €150m from Real Madrid already in this window and the player seems keen to join the ranks of Barcelona.

Not only would it take a record-breaking bid to get the player, he seems to have his heart set on a different destination.

Italian pair circle for winger

Gabriel Martinelli is starting to raise some interest across Europe.

His performances from the bench for Brazil have sparked the interest of two Italian clubs.

Both Roma and Juventus are considering a move for the winger, with Arsenal reportedly willing to move him on.

Red Devils throw spanner in works

Arsenal’s planned signing of Morgan Rogers could be in trouble.

After Man Utd reportedly agreed a deal to sign Youri Tielemans, Aston Villa may be less keen to cash in on both players.

At the least, this is going to cause the Midlands outfit to play hardball if they are going to let their England attacker leave also.

Gift of the Gab

Gabriel Arteta has been training with Arsenal’s Under-21 side after signing scholarship terms with the Gunners.

Arteta, 17, is the eldest son of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and was announced as a scholar for the Gunners this summer.

The teenager’s profile within the Hale End academy continues to grow after earning a handful of opportunities at the end of last season.

Gabriel, who operates as a winger, was first used as an unused substitute for the Under-18s in a clash against Ipswich Town back in February.

He later made his full U18s debut in April, coming off the bench against Reading in a U18s Premier League game.

He had already featured for the Under-17s in October, making his debut against Watford in the Premier League Cup.

Given his age, Gabriel is eligible for his first professional contract if the club decides to offer him one.

Magpies swoop for academy star

Fabrizio Romano has given this one the ‘here we go’ seal of approval.

Newcastle have agreed a deal to sign Kyran Thompson from the Arsenal academy.

The deal is apparently all done and he will head up to his new home in the North East.

Former scout fires shots at capital

Bryan King a former scout at Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa has had his say on the Bruno Guimaraes situation.

He has made some bold claims of why the player has requested to leave St James’ Park this summer as he told Football Insider:

“If it’s true that he wants to leave, then he’s been tapped up, that’s for sure, which is illegal.

“He’s the idol of the Geordies, he’s the idol of Newcastle United, he’s the captain of the football club, and all of a sudden he wants to leave.

“Now, is it because there’s been a shortage of trophies, although he won the League Cup with Newcastle?

“But if it’s true that he does want to leave, and he’s publicly stated that, and he’s sent in a request to Newcastle that he wants to leave.

“If that becomes available to see then, as I say, he’s been tapped up, and he’s been tapped up either by another Premier League club of a higher status than Newcastle, or a top European club.”

Former Gunner lets rip

Ian Wright has had his say on Erling Haaland’s outburst on X.

The former Man City midfielder had a dig at the referee after Norway’s exit from the World Cup on the weekend.

Wright commented “Is that sour grapes from Alf-Inge Haaland, saying well done to Bellingham and the referee? I think that was just a bit of a low blow from him.”

Top target wants top dollar

Reports are circling that Bruno Guimaraes is wanting phenomenal wages to make the move to North London.

Despite telling Newcastle he wants to leave this summer, their tactic of offering him a new contract worth £250k per week has created a certain mindset in the player.

Guimaraes is reported to want in the region of £300k per week to make the switch to the capital, which could be a big stumbling block for Arteta.

Winger keen on move to The Emirates

Borussia Dortmund have made enquiries to Club Brugge about one of their stars.

The player in question is Christos Tzolis, their highly-rated winger.

Reports suggest that he has told his club that he is not interested and is only willing to leave for North London.

It seems the winger is keen to join Premier League champions Arsenal.

Bruno drama

Former Newcastle chief Mehrdad Ghodoussi has angrily denied claims that his wife and former co-owner Amanda Staveley misled Arsenal by saying Bruno Guimaraes is available for £50m this summer.

The Telegraph reported that the previous regime had old the midfielder he could depart St James’ Park for ‘around £50m’ if they failed to qualify for the Champions League.

However, Ghodoussi took to X to brand the report as “utter nonsense”.

Kone race

France’s Manu Kone could trigger a transfer battle between Man United and Arsenal after impressing at the World Cup and his current club, Roma, need to sell.

Roma would ideally like to keep Kone, however, Gian Piero Gasperini has said: “It is undeniable that Roma have to balance the books.

“I hope that reaching the Champions League will be enough [to keep Kone], but it is clear that balance sheets are essential for clubs, and there will be more clarity in the coming weeks.”

La Gazzetta dello Sport report Man United are in the running for the midfielder while L’Equipe states he is a target for Arsenal.

La Corriere dello Sport note that Kone could be available for just under £47m.
