MADISON, Wis. - Wisconsin women's tennis defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes on Sunday afternoon, 4-1. The Badgers close out the regular season at 16-6 with a 9-4 conference record. With the win, head coach Marek Michalicka secured the best record by a first-year head coach in program history.In doubles play, the Badgers had to battle against the Hawkeyes. Kaja Jacobson and Ellison Reynoldson pushed through a tight match, earning a break at 4-4 before closing out the set. Maria Sholokhova and Ekaterina Ivanova followed with another 6-4 win, finishing the season undefeated as a doubles pair.Singles play began with a quick point for Wisconsin, as Maria Sholokhova earned the win at No. 1 following a medical retirement. She wraps up the regular season with a 12-3 record. Kaede Usui delivered a strong straight-set victory to give the Badgers a 3-1 lead.
