Newcastle United have completed the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion defender Rachel McLauchlan on a permanent deal.WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Magpies this morning.It has been reported that Newcastle United have paid an undisclosed fee to Brighton & Hove Albion to secure the player's services.The 29-year-old defender makes the move to the North East after spending the last two years playing Barclays Women's Super League football with Brighton & Hove Albion. McLaughlan made 48 appearances for The Seagulls in all competitions in which she scored two goals. The player was an Adobe Women's FA Cup runner-up with the Sussex side last season.On the international stage, McLaughlan has been capped by Scotland on 37 occasions. She made her senior international debut a decade ago.After joining Newcastle United, McLaughlan said "I'm really excited to get started. I'm raring to go, it's a big opportunity and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone."I want to come here and help the team get promoted. Tanya [Oxtoby] spoke so highly of what the club wants to do and that was a big motivation for me to come here."McLaughlan is Newcastle United's fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
