Latest Reds news and more on our dedicated Facebook pageArsenal enter Barcola raceLiverpool's pursuit of Bradley Barcola could become more complicated after Arsenal reportedly entered the race for his services. And it leaves the Reds at further risk of frustration after Real Madrid beat them to the signing of Yan Diomande.Barcola was tipped as Liverpool's back-up option, with talks reportedly underway to get a deal done. However, Arsenal have also been stumped by Real after Vinicius Jr allegedly considered a move to the Emirates before penning a contract extension. That's led them to pivot their interests in the search for a left winger, with Barcola seemingly their next top choice. Mikel Arteta has already brought in Christos Tzolis as a replacement for Leandro Trossard but he wants more competition for the role. The Independent reported Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez and Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye are also being monitored by Arsenal. Alvarez has indicated he'd like to leave Los Rojiblancos but Diego Simeone doesn't want to sell. That could steer the north Londoners further in Barcola's direction, which won't be welcome news at Anfield. The current Premier League champions are one of the few teams in England that may boast greater appeal than Liverpool in the current market. The Reds have reportedly agreed personal terms with Barcola and are searching to find an agreement with PSG. The Parisiens were demanding as much as £145million for their player, though a more manageable figure of £109m has since emerged.Dressing room view on Konsa transferThe Aston Villa squad are reported to be 'increasingly concerned' Ezri Konsa will leave this summer. That's according to the Daily Mail, which has suggested Liverpool target Konsa is edging closer to a move.Despite already adding Jeremy Jacquet to their ranks this summer, more defensive reinforcements are believed to remain a priority at Anfield. That has perhaps been exacerbated by Joe Gomez's recent injury setback, while Jacquet and fellow youngster Giovanni Leoni are still regaining full fitness following injuries.A major sticking point in Konsa's case would be Villa's supposed £60million valuation. That figure would be hefty for most centre-backs but particularly one who's set to turn 29 in October and has less than two years left on his contract. It's frustrating for Liverpool, therefore, that Konsa could fit their requirements so succinctly. The England star can play at centre-back or right-back, the same two areas in which Liverpool's defence is most in need of reinforcements.
