2026 US Open entry list: Sinner, Alcaraz and every player to watch at the Grand Slam

The 2026 US Open is shaping up to deliver another loaded Grand Slam field, with Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff among the biggest names on the official singles entry lists.

Tournament organizers confirmed the initial fields after the July entry deadline, with the main draw scheduled to run from August 30 through September 13 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York.

Alcaraz enters as the defending men's champion, while Sabalenka will attempt to retain the women's title. However, the entry list also includes several major challengers capable of disrupting their title defenses.

An entry doesn't guarantee participation, as players can still withdraw because of injury or other issues before the tournament begins.

Who are the biggest names in the men's field?

Alcaraz and Sinner will once again command enormous attention after becoming the defining rivalry at the top of men's tennis.

Sinner remains one of the leading contenders in New York, while Novak Djokovic adds another multiple Grand Slam champion to a deep field.

American hopes will include Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe, all of whom will have home support behind them.

Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, Alex de Minaur, Andrey Rublev and Casper Ruud are also among the recognizable names expected to compete.

Holger Rune is listed as well, although his participation remains uncertain after a lengthy absence caused by an Achilles injury.

Women's draw features another stacked field

Sabalenka headlines the women's list as defending champion, but there won't be any shortage of challengers.

Gauff and Jessica Pegula lead a strong American contingent, while Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Mirra Andreeva and Amanda Anisimova add further Grand Slam pedigree and depth.

Naomi Osaka is another name capable of attracting major attention in New York given her previous success at the tournament.

The official entry lists are based largely on ATP and WTA rankings at the deadline, with additional places eventually filled through qualifying and wild cards.

That means the final field can still change before first round matches begin.
