Manchester United could make multiple dream signings before transfer deadline day on September 1

Manchester United have secured several new signings but Michael Carrick's team remain busy in the transfer market. As August arrives, the club have one month remaining to restructure their squad.

The middle of the park remains a priority, despite signing Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos. United have been linked with numerous possibilities but the manager may seek to deliver a marquee name in midfield to underline the club's aspirations to challenge for major honours next season.

In attack, Benjamin Sesko requires competition, with striker Joshua Zirkzee among several players who could depart Old Trafford this summer. Meanwhile, United could begin long-term planning by testing Newcastle's determination over left-back Lewis Hall. £85m midfielder signs

Aurelien Tchouameni arriving from Real Madrid would mark a statement signing for United in the final weeks of the window. The Red Devils refused to pay astronomical sums for the likes of Elliot Anderson, Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes earlier in the summer but splashing out on Tchouameni would emphasise the club's ambitions.

The 26-year-old would represent an ideal signing for Carrick's revamped midfield as the United manager reshapes his squad following Casemiro's departure. Spanish publication AS previously reported that Real Madrid would seek around £85m for Tchouameni after the France international recently penned a contract extension with Los Blancos.

However, the Spanish heavyweights are keen on Manchester City's Rodri, which could prompt Tchouameni to weigh up his options elsewhere. It would provide Carrick with an impressive selection of midfielders, with Tielemans, Santos and Kobbie Mainoo all competing for spots in the United starting XI.

Lewis Hall deal

United are interested in Newcastle left-back Lewis Hall and, in an ideal scenario, would secure Luke Shaw's long-term replacement this summer. The 21-year-old has caught the eye during his spell with the Magpies, who have already demonstrated a readiness to offload key assets through the departures of Anthony Gordon and Tonali.

The England international is reportedly open to joining Carrick's side. Yet Newcastle are believed to be hesitant about selling another prized asset, meaning United may need to fork out a substantial fee for the defender, who left Chelsea for £35m in 2023.

United depended heavily on Shaw throughout last season but will have worries about the seasoned full-back staying injury-free, while Patrick Dorgu appeared more effective when deployed on the left wing. Completing a move for Hall would enable United to begin their left-back succession planning early, even if the young defender commands a substantial transfer fee.

New striker joins

Benjamin Sesko's unavailability for United's early pre-season fixtures has underlined the club's need to add a striker before the summer window closes. Joshua Zirkzee has spearheaded the attack for Carrick's team but has struggled to establish himself since his arrival from Bologna in 2024, prompting reports of a possible £30m return to Serie A.

While Sesko flourished after Carrick arrived at United, it took time for the Slovenian forward to cement his place in the starting lineup. The 23-year-old is still developing and shouldn't be the club's sole senior striker as United prepare for a Champions League campaign and seek to improve upon their third-place Premier League finish.

Dusan Vlahovic is among several forwards to be linked with a move to Old Trafford and could offer the perfect answer to United's dilemma. The 26-year-old is a free agent after leaving Juventus this summer, where he netted 68 goals across 168 matches.

An expensive, high-profile signing could potentially hinder Sesko's development under Carrick and stop him from fulfilling his true potential. However, the former RB Leipzig star would benefit from competing alongside Vlahovic, who would equally be afforded the chance to impress as a rotation option at Old Trafford.
