Taylor Fritz wants to go on a date with Sydney Sweeney after his breakup with Morgan Riddle and sends her a message

Taylor Fritz appears ready to explore life after Morgan Riddle, and the leading American tennis player has already identified the celebrity he would most like to date.

Fritz named Sydney Sweeney as his crush while appearing in a YouTube golf video with influencers David Dobrik, Nick Nayersina and Josh Richards. The conversation turned toward famous women, giving the recently single 28-year-old an opportunity to make his interest public.

“Sydney Sweeney,” Fritz said when asked to reveal his celebrity crush.

The answer was hardly surprising to those around him. Richards immediately insisted that Fritz had a realistic chance with the actress, who has somehow become the internet’s universal answer whenever an athlete or celebrity is asked to name an ideal partner.

“That’s in the realm!” Richards said.

Sweeney’s appeal has grown into something resembling a cultural reflex. Her acting career, frequent red-carpet appearances and carefully maintained public image have made her an unavoidable presence, although the level of fascination can occasionally feel out of proportion.

Fritz’s admission appeared to provide immediate inspiration on the golf course.

After striking a powerful drive, he turned toward the camera and delivered a message that made his attraction even clearer.

“We’re talking about Sydney Sweeney, got me all f****** tee’d up!” Fritz said.

It wasn’t a direct invitation sent privately to Sweeney, but it was an unmistakably public expression of interest. Whether she ever sees it or responds is another matter.

Fritz’s comments came several months after his relationship with Riddle ended in April. The pair had been together for approximately six years after meeting through the dating app Raya in 2020.

Riddle became a familiar presence in Fritz’s player box and built a substantial following by documenting life on the professional tennis circuit. Their relationship featured prominently in the Netflix series Break Point before the couple quietly went their separate ways.

Riddle confirmed the breakup with characteristic humor, sharing posts about her new life in New York and describing herself as the “World’s Best Ex-Girlfriend.”

Fritz has largely avoided discussing the separation publicly. His Sweeney admission therefore offered one of the clearest indications that he is prepared to move forward romantically.

The timing may prove awkward, however, because Sweeney has recently been linked with music executive Scooter Braun. Fritz also didn’t claim that he had contacted her privately or that a date was being arranged.

His remarks were closer to a playful declaration than a genuine relationship development, but the internet will inevitably treat them as something larger. That tends to happen whenever Sweeney’s name enters a conversation.
