Mykhailo Mudryk transfer update as Chelsea receive interest from three Premier League rivals

The latest on the future of Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk after the 25-year-old's suspension from football was lifted with a resolution found in his anti-doping case

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk is the subject of approaches from three Premier League clubs, including Coventry City, after the Ukrainian was cleared to play competitive football again last week.

The 25-year-old winger has not played a competitive match since the Blues' victory away in Heidenheim all the way back in November 2024. Mudryk was given an initial four-year suspension by the FA for an anti-doping violation, testing positive for meldonium. Mudryk has maintained his innocence throughout and sources say Chelsea supported him throughout the process.

Now, with Mudryk available again, there are multiple Premier League clubs who have contacted Chelsea to ask about his situation. Xabi Alonso said on Saturday night that a decision over his future has not been made just yet.

Asked on the winger's future, Alonso said: "We need to see, it's too early to tell, to see how he is in terms of fitness, in terms of this game time that you need to be involved again, so it's still early to tell."

Mudryk is now in Hong Kong with his teammates for the second leg of Chelsea's four-country pre-season tour. The winger could be involved in open training on Tuesday evening ahead of Wednesday night's friendly with Juventus.

Alonso warned reporters at the weekend that patience is required in relation to Mudryk given his time away from the sport: "We can expect that [it will take longer to get back to full fitness and sharpness]. We have the Mudryk that [we had], it will take time, but once there is a change, things start moving, and for him it's a massive change.

"So he trained on his own every day, and I think it had to be really, really hard, because he wanted to play football, he wanted to be part of a team, and he was not allowed to do that for such a long time. So once this big change has happened, now things will move on, and afterwards we will see if it's quicker, if it's slower, but we need to be aware of that."
