The summer window is heading into crucial weeks as the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham work on huge deals. The Gunners are assessing new targets after missing out on Vinicius Jr, with Julian Alvarez a key target for attack and Ezri Konsa for the defence. Liverpool face challenge to sign Bradley Barcola

Liverpool are pushing ahead with their interest in PSG winger Bradley Barcola.

Sky Sports report that talks have taken place between the clubs, but there remains a significant gap in valuation, with PSG demanding a substantial fee for the France international.

Arsenal are also monitoring Barcola and could attempt to hijack Liverpool’s move as they search for a replacement for Vinicius Jr.

Liverpool remain keen on the 23-year-old as they look to strengthen their attack.

Barcelona weigh up second Rodri bid

Barcelona have had a £38.6milllion bid rejected for Manchester City midfielder Rodri, with the Premier League side holding out for a fee closer to their £68.5m valuation.

Standard Sport understands that Man City believe Barcelona’s offer is too far below their valuation to even consider entering meaningful club-to-club talks yet.

Barcelona are expected to come back with a second bid for the former Atletico Madrid midfielder.

Arsenal and Manchester United scouting Pio Esposito

Arsenal and Manchester United are both interested in signing Inter Milan striker Pio Esposito.

The Sun report that both clubs sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old during pre-season, while Arsenal have been monitoring the striker for several months.

Inter publicly consider Esposito “untouchable”, but the club have privately set an asking price of around £73m.

The striker is also understood to be very open to a move to the Premier League, potentially setting the stage for a battle between Arsenal and United for his signature.

Newcastle 'confirm' Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal

Newcastle have effectively confirmed Bruno Guimaraes’ move to Arsenal, with an official transfer announcement imminent.

The transfer saga of the summer was closed this week after the Gunners and Newcastle finally opened club-to-club talks before agreeing a fee for the Brazil international.

It is understood that the deal is worth around £75million that could rise as high as £80m, making Guimaraes the third arrival at the Emirates Stadium this summer after Illan Meslier and Christos Tzolis.

While the transfer is yet to be announced by either club, Newcastle chief executive David Hopkinson has suggested Arsenal had hoped to pay a smaller fee for the 28-year-old.

Tottenham turn to Mikautadze

Tottenham are working on a deal for Villarreal striker Georges Mikautadze.

The Georgia international is on Spurs’ shortlist, according to Paul O’Keefe, as they look to add more firepower to their attack.

Mikautadze has impressed since moving to Villarreal last summer in a deal worth around €30million,

Cody Gakpo and Savinho are also of interest as Spurs spread their net wide in search of attacking reinforcements.

Arsenal agree personal terms with Julian Alvarez

Arsenal are expected to reignire their interest in Julian Alvarez after failing to lure Vinicius Jr from Real Madrid.

Ben Jacobs reports that Alvarez is Mikel Arteta’s back-up option, having also missed out on Morgan Rogers to strengthen his attack.

Reports on X go further by suggesting personal terms on a contract have already been agreed. The Article claim Alvarez would prefer a move to Barcelona but has not ruled out moving back to the Premier League.

A move for Alvarez could throw Viktor Gyokeres’s future into doubt.

Man City launch Enzo Fernandez pursuit

Manchester City want Enzo Fernandez to replace Barcelona-bound Rodri

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Man City are working on two potential midfield additions alongside the already completed signing of Elliot Anderson.

Fernandez has emerged as a priority target for City, with manager Enzo Maresca keen on a reunion with his former vice-captain, but a deal will be difficult.

City are also keen on Ayyoub Bouaddi, who impressed during the recent World Cup with Morocco, with talks already underway.

Arsenal have three new targets

Arsenal have moved on from their pursuit of Vinicius Jr after the Brazilian winger committed his future to Real Madrid until 2032.

Despite coming close to agreeing personal terms, Arsenal were unable to convince him to leave Spain.

Mikel Arteta remains determined to strengthen his attacking options and has identified three alternatives: Julian Alvarez, Bradley Barcola and Iliman Ndiaye.

Barcola is an appealing option, although Liverpool are further ahead in negotiations and PSG’s £130m valuation exceeds Arsenal’s assessment.

Alvarez is admired by Arteta but appears likely to stay in Spain, while Ndiaye remains another possibility.

Liverpool close in on second summer signing

Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Barcelona captain Ronald Araujo to help ease a defensive injury crisis.

According to widespread reports, the Reds have agreed a deal with the LaLiga champions to bring the Uruguay international in on a season-long loan.

Furthermore, it’s understood that Liverpool will have the option to sign Araujo permanently next summer should the 27-year-old impress.
