Walyalup have confirmed one change to the side to play Euro-Yroke with star midfielder and co-vice-captain Caleb Serong set to miss the Sir Doug Nicholls Round clash with a calf injury."Caleb had some calf awareness following the Essendon game and scans have now revealed a strain," said Executive General Manager of Football Joe Brierty."We will monitor Caleb’s functionality in the coming days and provide an update next week."Utility Corey Wagner comes into the team, named on the bench alongside Mason Cox, Isaiah Dudley, Michael Frederick and Karl Worner.Wagner missed the Round 10 win over Essendon with a groin abductor injury but has since overcome the issue.Bailey Banfield, Hugh Davies and Jaeger O’Meara have been named as emergencies for Friday night.Showing remarkable durability, Serong’s absence will be the first time he has missed a game since Round 18, 2023.Co-vice-captain Andrew Brayshaw will captain the side in the absence of Alex Pearce, who is recovering from a knee injury.Friday night will also be midfielder Neil Erasmus’ 50th game, named on-ball with Shai Bolton and Luke Jackson.Round 10 inclusions Oscar McDonald, Chris Scerri and Nathan O’Driscoll all retain their spots.O’Driscoll has been named on a wing, while McDonald will line up in the last line of defence alongside Brennan Cox and Heath Chapman.Scerri will start in a forward pocket, with Jye Amiss at full forward and Pat Voss in the other pocket.The game will commence at 6.30pm WST and will be broadcast live on Channel 7 and Fox Sports 3, and streamed live on Kayo and 7plus.On Friday night, Walyalup will run out in an Indigenous jumper design brought to life through artwork by Mariah Yarran, in collaboration with Club great Stephen Hill. The central theme focuses on strong family connections and history.Hill played 218 AFL games for Walyalup between 2009 and 2020, sitting 10th all-time on the Club’s games played list. He kicked 112 goals and excelled on a wing.
