Alexander Bublik Admits Grand Slam Dream Feels ‘Almost Impossible’ Because of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner

Over the past few years, it has become increasingly evident that Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have separated themselves from the rest of the ATP field by consistently performing at a level few can match. While they have suffered the occasional defeat at Grand Slams and other ATP events, the duo has largely prevented anyone else from establishing sustained dominance.

With the US Open approaching, Alcaraz will be eager to reclaim the spotlight and resume his fierce rivalry with his Italian counterpart. Speaking about just how difficult it is to beat "Sincaraz," top ATP player Alexander Bublik recently made an interesting confession.

Can Anyone Beat Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz?

Bublik, who has faced Sinner eight times in his career and Alcaraz once, earned a memorable victory over the Italian at the 2025 Halle Open. When asked how he managed to defeat the world No. 1, Bublik admitted that it took "a lot of luck."

He also spoke about the mindset inside the locker room when players prepare to face Sinner and Alcaraz, admitting, "At Grand Slams, where Sinner and Alcaraz feel most comfortable and are perfectly prepared, you don't really have a chance. I get the feeling that the rest of the players have given up, myself included, by the way."

Bublik made it clear that winning a Grand Slam is 'almost impossible' for him as long as both stars remain at the top of the sport. Instead, he said he would be satisfied with reaching the quarterfinals or semifinals at a major.

While there have been occasions when both Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have looked vulnerable, they have been nearly untouchable since 2024. As things stand, the tennis world continues to wait for another player capable of consistently challenging the duo on the biggest stages.
