Everton are reportedly preparing a transfer approach for United striker Ethan Wheatley. However, it is understood that nothing is advanced at this stage.

The 20-year-old ended last season on loan at League One side Bradford City after spending the first half of the campaign with Northampton Town. The Red Devils youngster made 12 appearances for the Bantams in 2025/26 as he sought more senior first-team football.

However, he failed to score for the West Yorkshire club and did not feature in either of their League One play-off semi-final fixtures with Bolton Wanderers. It came after Wheatley became United's 250th academy graduate to feature for the first team, making his debut in a 4-2 win over Sheffield United in April 2024.

Reports from Italy suggest Joshua Zirkzee has accepted a loan switch to Juventus without any obligation to purchase. The Dutch striker doesn't seem to feature in Carrick's first-team thinking.

United signed Zirkzee for £36m in 2024 and he became the inaugural signing under INEOS ownership. He previously featured in Italy with Bologna. It is understood that Zirkzee has proven challenging to sell and, having failed to establish himself at United, is much more likely to depart on loan, either with or without a purchase option.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Zirkzee has agreed to a deal with Juventus and has already given his 'yes' to the Italian club.

United have maintained an interest in English left-back Lewis Hall all summer, but according to the BBC, Michael Carrick's side view the deal as "very difficult" to pull off. Still, the Reds' desire to reinforce the position remains no secret.

The Reds have Luke Shaw in that position, and Patrick Dorgu can also play there, but the Dane's best performances came on the left wing under Carrick last term.

Former Chelsea defender William Gallas believes it is all but inevitable that Cole Palmer will join Manchester United - but only after he's had 'one more big season'. Palmer moved to Stamford Bridge from Manchester City in 2023 in a £42.5m deal.

Despite spending 13 years at the Etihad, Palmer is a boyhood United fan. Claims emerged earlier this year that the England international was homesick and the Reds were keen to lure him to Old Trafford.

But Palmer later claimed there is no truth in links to United or that he is homesick in London. However, that hasn't stopped Gallas from claiming that if Palmer has another impressive campaign at Stamford Bridge, a move to United would likely follow.

Lewis Hall has reportedly turned down the chance to sign for Chelsea amid continued speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.

That’s according to journalist Simon Phillips, who is reporting that Chelsea tried to make a move for Hall this summer, but he wasn’t keen on a return to Stamford Bridge.

The between United and Hall have grown in recent days following the news that Eddie Howe had left the North East club.

Former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen believes Saudi Arabia could be an option for Marcus Rashford.

Speaking via Andy’s Bet Club, he claimed: “Saudi Arabia could be an option for Rashford depending on what he wants.

“When he left Manchester United, we felt he had fallen out of love with the manager or the club. I would assume he has a different relationship with Michael Carrick.

“He is still a player who can make a difference, as we saw in the game against France. I don't know why he came off at half-time in that game, but he did well.

“It baffled me why Tuchel didn't bring him and Bukayo Saka on earlier in the Argentina game because their pace would have provided a perfect outlet.

“He obviously wants to play at the highest level. It is interesting that Barcelona went for Anthony Gordon instead of signing Marcus Rashford, there might be something there.

“Perhaps one of the other big clubs will sign him so he can keep playing in the Champions League. Or he might make a move to Saudi or maybe the MLS, who knows?”

While he may not have won as many trophies as he would have liked at United, Skinner did a lot of good for the women's team. Their participation in the Champions League for the first time last season was hugely significant and it was clear a lot of the players were galvanised around him. It will be interesting to see who United turn to next.

“Appointed in 2021, Marc led United to four domestic cup finals in four seasons, winning the club’s first major honour in women’s football with the 2024 FA Cup.

“During his tenure, United also finished runners-up in the 2022–23 Women’s Super League, securing qualification for the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.

“Last season, the team reached its first League Cup final and the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

“Marc leaves having made a significant contribution to the continued progress of Manchester United Women. The club places on record its sincere thanks for his professionalism, commitment and dedication throughout his time at United, and wishes him every success in the future.”

Now we brought you a report from the Independent a little earlier, which claimed that United are investigating whether a deal for Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly is possible.

Well, the same publication is also reporting that the Reds are also expected to press on with attempting to sign Lewis Hall from Newcastle United.

The MEN reported last week that United could test the waters with a bid, but if a deal is to happen, it is believed Hall will have to make it clear to his employers that he wants the move.

Newcastle, of course, are set to start life under Matthias Jaissle in the coming days following Eddie Howe’s shock departure from the club last week.
