Kolkata Knight Riders batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been fined 20 percent of his match fee following his animated reaction to a controversial dismissal against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026. The youngster also received one demerit point for breaching the league’s Code of Conduct.In an official statement from the IPL governing body said that Raghuvanshi was found guilty of a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2, which relates to abuse of equipment during a match. Raghuvanshi, batting on nine off seven balls, pushed a delivery from Prince Yadav and initially set off for a quick single.However, a mix-up with his partner at the non-striker’s end saw him turn back midway. As he scrambled to make his ground, a throw from Mohammed Shami struck him on the pads.LSG appealed immediately, and the decision was referred upstairs. After a detailed review, the TV umpire ruled him out for obstructing the field, concluding that Raghuvanshi had altered his running path in a way that interfered with the throw.The decision sparked debate, with many questioning whether the batter had intentionally changed direction or was simply reacting instinctively in a split-second situation.HOW DID HE AND KKR MANAGEMENT REACT?The call did not go down well in the KKR camp.Raghuvanshi was visibly frustrated and engaged in a brief exchange with the on-field umpires before walking off. His disappointment boiled over as he threw his helmet towards the dugout and struck the boundary cushion with his bat.The reaction extended beyond the field as well. Members of the KKR support staff were seen protesting near the boundary line, with assistant coach Shane Watson reacting angrily to the decision.
