Record Gabriel Martinelli sale, Nwaneri ‘pure profit’ as Arsenal set for £190m summer windfall

Arsenal are set to see many of their players depart this summer as Andrea Berta fights to see how much he can make in terms of this squad

Arsenal are due to have several of their squad depart this summer. Jakub Kiwior has already left bringing in a meagre figure below £15million to the club after his loan with FC Porto was a huge success.

Sporting director Andrea Berta is under pressure to transform the club’s reputation in the market, but has not got off to the best start. So far, Arsenal has agreed a deal to sell one of its major players, the agreement has left many still puzzled and wondering why the club cannot garner better fees.

With that said, football.london takes a look at all the players potentially leaving this summer, and estimates the fees that the club would hope and could be likely to receive in the market with all the relevant contexts considered. Let us know in the comment section at the base of the article as to whether you agree with our evaluations.

Leandro Trossard - £15million-£20million

The Gunners have agreed a record a €20million (£17million) move for the Belgian international ahead of an expected departure. The value of the deal, which includes €2million (£1.7million) in add-ons, represents the most paid by a Turkish club for a player 30 years of age or older in the league’s history.

At 31, and a year left on Trossard’s deal, the sale brings in good money, removes a significant wage packet from the bill and opens the door to a major signing on the left wing.

Gabriel Jesus - £10million - £15million

A year remaining on his contract, which is one of the very best paid at the club despite a severe lack of regular minutes and considerable injury-hit history, the club might want closer to £20million but the reality is a deal is likely at a much lower figure.

Gabriel Martinelli - £40million - £50million

One of the most discussed players when it comes to fees. After a good World Cup the value of Martinelli might have gone up, the interest certainly will have, but with just one year (with an option of a year extension) remaining on the 25-year-old’s current deal, the expectation of taking a ‘step down’ the footballing pyramid in search of and another high earner the fee Arsenal can command will hopefully break the record set by Alex Oxlade Chamberlain nine years ago (£35million) but upwards of £50million I struggle to see.

In the current market with some crazy figures being paid by Premier League clubs, should a fellow English top-flight side come in for the Brazilian, that may change, but until then, the estimation remains as is.

Ethan Nwaneri - £30million-£40million

Another who could potentially break the club’s sales record, but the last of game time last season and disappointing loan spell with Marseille has brought those expectations in terms of fee down somewhat. The control Arsenal have is in the contract, which has several years left to run.

Similarly with Martinelli, if another Premier League club comes in for Nwaneri, it could hike up the asking price. Until then, upwards of £40million might come a bit steep. And after coming through the academy this would represent what is known as 'pure profit' on the books.

Kepa Arrizabalaga - £5million

A release clause in the Spaniard’s contract dictates the fee of any potential sale, which would reimburse Arsenal for what they paid Chelsea in 2025.

Ben White - £20million - £30million

Already back at the Arsenal training ground, working on his recovery, Ben White has two years left on his deal with an option for a one-year extension. At 28 years old, the player is in a good period of his career; however, injuries have plagued his last few seasons, which sadly bring his value down considerably.

Interest from Premier League clubs will hope to see any sale reach the £30million figure, but dependent on his fitness, it might see a lower fee received.

Christian Norgaard - £5million - £10million

If Arsenal can get anything above £5million for Christian Norgaard, they would have done rather well after a £12million move last summer, which has not been a hit.

Fabio Vieira - £10million - £15million

A good spell on loan with Hamburg, but even they had no intention of activating the clause to sign him permanently for more than £15million. His season might have brought in more suitors, but again, getting a decent fee with one year left on his deal will be very challenging.

Reiss Nelson - <£5million

This might finally be the summer Reiss Nelson leaves on a permanent move but any fee at all at this stage will be a bonus.
