Man United transfer news LIVE - £43m Manu Kone 'bid', Tchouameni boost, Carlos Baleba update

In case you missed it, the reason that Manchester United are yet to formally pursue Manu Kone may have been revealed.

According to The Telegraph, a move for the AS Roma star does not have ‘universal backing’ among Old Trafford transfer chiefs.

Kone would almost certainly arrive as United's new No.6 with concerns seemingly over his technical abilities and how he may struggle adapting to Premier League football.

That National News report has also provided more clarity on the future of Aurelien Tchouameni.

They have claimed that Los Blancos handed Tchouameni a three-year deal with improved wages as they did not expect Manchester City's Rodri to be available this summer.

In order to try and sign the latter, Real are considering their options and should they decide selling Tchouameni is the chosen one, the midfielder would be open to playing for United, who have long admired him.

Despite midfield being the prioriry, Manchester United are still looking to strengthen at left-back with Newcastle United's Lewis Hall of interest.

According to The National News, Hall is a target and their report specifically states that would not be the case if United felt as though the player did not want a move to Old Trafford.

The Magpies do not want to sell and thus their asking price is unclear with Newcastle also likely wanting to avoid selling another key player. Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali have already departed while Bruno Guimaraes remains of firm interest to Arsenal.

Manu Kone transfer agreement and offer claims from Italy have seemingly been dismissed by Fabrizio Romano.

He has stated that while there has been contact between United and his agents with "concrete conversations over a possible move" held, they are yet to make contact with AS Roma as a decision is still being made on the "defensive midfielder they want to sign".

As such, there has not been "club-to-club negotiations and no official bid". Of the midfielders linked to United, Kone is expected to be the cheapest with Roma expected to demand in the region of £50m.

Real Madrid's own transfer dealings could have handed Manchester United a boost to their hopes of signing Aurelien Tchouameni.

The latter has been of interest to United for the last few months with a move now a possibility assuming Real need to sell after reaching an agreement to sign Yan Diomande.

Their continued interest in Rodri also makes a midfield exit more likely with Eduardo Camavinga another candidate to depart.

Reports in Italy have claimed that Manu Kone has agreed on Manchester United personal terms.

That is according Corriere dello Sport with their update stating that a fee is still to be finalised between the two.

It has been added that an offer in the region of £42.7million (€50m) is set to be tabled by United. Arsenal, Chelsea and Al-Ahli have been linked with a move for the Frenchman.

Carlos Baleba looks to be a midfield transfer option for Manchester United again.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 22-year-old's camp have got in touch United once more to explore a transfer. The Seagulls demanded quite the fee to sell last summer which saw United's interest cool.

Following a mixed last season, Baleba's asking price is now reportedly £70million but other midfield dealings could see Brighton demand more.
