Renard on the Way Out: Saudi Arabia Set for Change

The tenure of Hervé Renard as head coach of Saudi Arabia appears to be nearing its end. Multiple reports suggest that the Saudi Arabian Football Federation has already decided to part ways with the French manager in the coming days, aiming to reshape the national team project ahead of key upcoming fixtures and the 2026 World Cup.

Speculation is growing rapidly among fans of the “Green Falcons,” as several candidates have emerged as frontrunners. Leading the race are Péricles Chamusca of Al-Taawoun and Giorgos Donis of Al-Khaleej. Both managers reportedly have strong backing within federation circles, with one of them expected to take over soon.

Also in contention is Pedro Emanuel of Al-Fayha, although he currently appears to be a secondary option compared to the main two candidates.

There are already signs pointing to an imminent transition. Donis has reportedly been making detailed inquiries about players in the Roshen League, suggesting preparation for a potential appointment. Meanwhile, Chamusca is said to have held direct talks with SAFF officials and expressed strong enthusiasm about leading Saudi Arabia into the 2026 World Cup.
