JP Duminy goes Instagram official with new partner a year after divorce

JP Duminy has publicly debuted his relationship with ICC employee Alannah White after months of subtly featuring her on social media.

The couple share ties to the cricket world, with White working for the ICC and Duminy continuing his coaching and cricket development career after retirement.

Both Duminy and his ex-wife, Sue Erasmus, have moved on, with Sue now engaged to businessman Franco Roberto.

Former Proteas star JP Duminy has officially introduced his new partner to the world, marking a new chapter in his personal life more than a year after announcing his separation from ex-wife Sue Duminy.

Over the weekend, Duminy shared a series of photos from a glamorous black-tie event at The Leela Mumbai in India, where he was accompanied by his girlfriend, Alannah White. The post prompted an outpouring of congratulatory messages from friends, fans and former teammates.

While the cricketer only recently made the relationship Instagram official, eagle-eyed followers may have spotted subtle hints over the past few months. Duminy previously shared a video featuring White with the caption, “Shine your light.” He later posted a heartfelt birthday tribute in which he praised her “beautiful smile and aura” and wished her another year of bringing “love and light” into the world.

According to her LinkedIn profile, White is originally from New Zealand and currently works for the International Cricket Council (ICC) in Dubai, where Duminy has also been involved in cricket development and coaching initiatives following his retirement from international cricket.

The pair’s shared connection to the global cricket community appears to have brought them together during a busy period in Duminy’s post-playing career.

Since hanging up his boots in 2019, the former Proteas all-rounder has built an impressive coaching résumé, including roles with the Paarl Royals, South Africa’s white-ball setup and the Sharjah Warriorz in the International League T20. He has also continued to work in cricket consultancy and recently joined Western Province’s coaching staff on a consultancy basis while remaining an influential voice around the international game.

Earlier this year, Duminy also backed South Africa to “go all the way” at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, saying the current Proteas squad has what it takes to finally lift a major white-ball trophy.

The relationship comes after a significant period of change for both Duminy and his ex-wife.

In February last year, the former couple announced the end of their 14-year marriage. They share two daughters and have both since moved on.

Sue, who now goes by Sue Erasmus, announced her engagement to businessman Franco Roberto last year and has since revealed plans to write a premarital workbook inspired by her own experiences.
