Chelsea’s interim head coach Calum McFarlane has picked out the player who “was exceptional” vs Tottenham last night.

It wasn’t an easy win for Chelsea, far from it, but they got the job that they needed to do done in the end and got the all important three points.

For Chelsea fans, it was a nice chance to keep their London rivals sweating into the last game of the season with their Premier League safety still not a dead cert. They need to win their final game now to ensure they do not get relegated to the Championship. If they had got at least a point against Chelsea last night then they would have been safe and staying in the Premier League. So in that sense, it was a good night for Chelsea.

McFarlane has said that midfielder Enzo Fernandez was exceptional in the game, but he was also reluctant to single out players for praise and put the emphasis on the team.

As quoted on Football London, McFarlane said:

“I thought Enzo [Fernandez] was exceptional tonight. I thought his goal was brilliant. His assist as well, he’s obviously made a massive impact. I don’t think there was anyone you could name on our team that didn’t give absolutely everything to get the win.”

In other news today..

With Chelsea winning the game against Tottenham 2-1 last night, it was actually Enzo Fernandez who slammed a great goal to put The Blues ahead, striking one from range into the back of the Spurs net.

Then it was midfielder Andrey Santos who bundled in the important second goal, with Fernandez grabbing the assist for it.
