Captain Shariz Ahmad leads Netherlands A to win against MCC

LAHORE - Pakistan-born cricketer Shariz Ahmad produced an impressive all-round performance as captain of the Netherlands A side, helping his team secure a thrilling six-wicket victory over the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in a high-scoring T20 encounter. After winning the toss, Shariz elected to bowl first as Netherlands A restricted MCC to 175-5 in their allotted 20 overs. MCC opener Fontaine-Jackson top-scored with a fluent 56, but Shariz led the Netherlands A bowling attack effectively, finishing with figures of 2-28 from his four overs. The Netherlands A chase was anchored by a superb knock from Rushmere, who smashed an unbeaten 97 to put the visitors firmly in control. Shariz then provided the finishing touch himself, remaining not out on 33 as Netherlands A reached 176-4 in 19.1 overs to seal an impressive six-wicket victory.
