Kate Middleton Makes a Statement in Red for the Wimbledon Women’s Finals

The Wimbledon women’s finals are an all-Czech affair this afternoon in London, as Linda Nosková and Karolína Muchová both look to win their maiden Grand Slam title. In attendance to watch the match and present the trophies is Kate Middleton, the royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Before heading to the Royal Box on Centre Court, she met with players and employees.

Kate wore a red Roland Mouret dress for the occasion, accessorizing with ruby and diamond jewelry.

Since becoming royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Kate has only missed the women’s finals twice—in 2024, as she was undergoing cancer treatment, she only attended the men’s finals, and in 2017, when she went to an earlier day of the tournament in addition to the men’s finals. In 2025, 2023, 2022, and 2021, the Princess of Wales presented the trophies to the women’s champion and runner up, and in 2019 and 2018, she attended the women’s championships alongside her sister-in-law Meghan Markle. (Wimbledon was canceled in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.)

Today is her second appearance at Wimbledon this year; the Princess of Wales made a surprise appearance on day four of the tournament, where she stopped by the Queue and watched tennis on the side courts. She also wore a hidden microphone to take part in the tournament’s “Overheard at Wimbledon” social media series.

Numerous other members of the British royal family have attended this year: Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester went three times, Queen Camilla was at the quarterfinals with her sister, and the Duke of Kent, Peter Phillips, Harriet Sperling, Zara and Mike Tindall, Lady Helen Taylor, Lady Rose Gilman, and Princess Margaret’s children David Armstrong and Lady Sarah Chatto were all spotted at the All England Lawn Tennis Club during the fortnight.
