Pakistan's mystery spinner Usman Tariq has criticized batsmen who question his bowling action after getting out.

Tariq said that it is not the batsmen's job. Umpires and match referees are there to see everything. If the umpires are allowing me to bowl, it means my bowling action is legal.

Tim David had raised questions in The Hundred

Tariq has represented Pakistan in the T20 World Cup this year. Recently, during 'The Hundred' tournament in England, playing for Birmingham Phoenix, he dismissed Australian batsman Tim David of Trent Rockets. After being caught out, David signaled a no-ball, which made it seem like he was questioning Tariq's bowling action.

Umpires Need to Intervene

Tariq said that he gets frustrated by repeated questions about his action. He said that perhaps now umpires and match referees need to do something about it. Tariq recalled that England's Tom Banton had done something similar during the International T20 League in Dubai. After dismissing him, he had clearly told Banton his point.

Ashwin Has Defended Tariq

Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has previously defended Tariq's action. Ashwin says that the pause in Tariq's bowling motion does not violate the rules of the game.

Usman Tariq was reported for a suspicious bowling action during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match, but was later cleared in an ICC assessment. Earlier this year, during a T20 International match, Australian all-rounder Cameron Green had also raised questions about Tariq's action.

No help for spinners in T20s

Tariq said that all this should stop now. He explained that he works very hard for variation in his bowling, because nowadays there is no mercy for spinners in T20 cricket. He said that in this format, you have to remain fully focused all the time. It is worth noting that Tariq is one of only two Pakistani players, along with Abrar Ahmed, to play in 'The Hundred' this season.
